The DRIVEN rebate program supports automotive dealerships and EV repairers looking to install smart electric vehicle (EV) chargers at their sites. It’s part of a broader effort to help the sector sell, service, and repair more EVs across Australia.

The DRIVEN Charger Rebate runs for four financial years, 2024-25 through to 2027-28.
Applications open each round and must be lodged by 30 April, unless that year’s allocation is exhausted earlier.
Round 1 closed on 30 April 2025; Rounds 2, 3 and 4 will close on 30 April 2026, 2027 and 2028 respectively, with the final round your last chance to claim. Funding is first-come, first-served, so submit as soon as your chargers are installed.
Car Dealerships & Repairers with an ABN, an Australian bank account, a licensed commercial site, and at least one AS 5732-certified EV technician meet the DRIVEN rebate requirements.
Home-based or any organisation not included in the listed eligible entities are ineligible.
Submit your application through the online portal, making sure you complete every field, attach the required documents, and clearly show you meet all eligibility criteria.
Check the DRIVEN Charger Rebate Stream Guidelines for full details. Our licensed electricians can supply and and help guide you through the technical steps.
Install at least one fixed smart charger during the duration of the rebate, using a licensed EV charger electrician. Eligible models are AC 7 kW single-phase units, AC 11–22 kW three-phase units, and DC fast chargers up to 50 kW.
Only smart chargers that meet the program’s specifications are eligible. They must be hard-wired by a licensed electrician and fall within the power limits—AC 7 kW or 11–22 kW, or DC up to 50 kW. Portable AC units are not covered, while portable DC models qualify only if they’re connected through a dedicated point at your site.
Your project must cost at least $2,000, and rebates cover only your actual eligible spend, up to a $20,000 cap per site.
Each site can submit one application only, so if you’re planning extra chargers to reach the full rebate, let us help you map it out.

The pre-sales and installation was hassle free and the staff were friendly and responsive to our questions. Left site clean and tidy. Definitely recommend EV Charging Systems if you are after an EV home car charger. Thank you.
